CyberEX Underground has distinguished itself over the years from other cybersecurity events through its educational focus, aimed at providing practical guidance and fostering reflective dialogue among participants. • Cybersecurity Panel: Our customers shared their thoughts on cybersecurity issues within their company and how an external IT firm could support them effectively, emphasizing the benefits of considering managed cybersecurity services 

• MSSP Reveal: We exclusively unveiled our Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) solution, highlighting its distinguishing attributes 

• Express Presentations: Our participating partners had the opportunity to present their companies and solutions successively, with each presentation lasting 10 minutes 

• Keynote Address: Stéphane Hamel, a renowned speaker, explored the impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) through various lenses, such as legal concepts or privacy protection 

• Roundtable Workshop: Targeted exchanges and in-depth discussions around our clients' concerns took place in a privileged setting 

• Fifth Anniversary Celebration: A festive cocktail reception concluded this enriching day 

Learnings from the day 

This event allows us to stay closely connected with our customers, understand their concerns, and provide them with strategic implementation keys. 

Podcast participants particularly valued the opportunity to engage in open discussions about sometimes alarming topics, facilitated by anonymity. The MSSP panel was a highlight of the event, featuring candid testimonials from our clients that provided valuable insights. Some participants have established a cybersecurity strategy perfectly tailored to their needs, supported by a dedicated team and budget that enable them to operate independently. In contrast, others, particularly smaller organizations, face several challenges, including: 

• The inability of their team to have specialists in specific areas of cybersecurity 

• Insufficient staffing to ensure continuous 24/7 monitoring 

• Lack of the necessary budget to invest in all required specialties to maintain a resilient security posture 

These essential testimonials confirmed that we are on the right track and that the launch of our Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) offering aligns with our clients' expectations, in accordance with the findings of our latest IT Trends. 

However, despite laudable intentions to invest in cybersecurity, there are still some alarming figures: 

• 30% of respondents are unaware of Quebec's Law 25 

• 28% of companies have not offered cybersecurity training courses 

• Only 57% of companies have a business continuity plan in place

The keynote address provided valuable insights into the upcoming Bill C-27, particularly regarding the regulation of artificial intelligence and the management of personal data. Stéphane Hamel, an esteemed consultant recognized for his expertise in data ethics and analytics, emphasized the importance of human oversight and increased transparency in the use of AI. He stated, “One of the greatest risks of AI lies in automation without supervision,” which can quickly jeopardize data security. He also proposed concrete strategies to help organizations anticipate these emerging challenges.
