Team Leader - Servers, IT Operations

Novipro is currently looking for a Team Leader - Servers, IT Operations for one of its clients for a permanent position in Montreal.

Our client is looking for a Team Leader - Servers for a growing Citrix environment, Windows Server 2003,2008 R2 & 2012R2 Enterprise. The incumbent will work with the server support team to design, install, administer and optimize servers and related components to maximize the performance of the various supported business applications by adjusting the servers as required. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations and developing processes and procedures for the continuous management of the server environment. This person will be involved in supervising the physical security, integrity and security of the data center/server park as well as projects including the implementation of new servers throughout the company. The incumbent will be able to monitor the ongoing operation of the servers and provide reports to identify problems and take corrective action as required.

In your job with us, you will be asked to work on the following:

  • Provide technical expertise and advice to his team as a leader and work independently;
  • Act as an internal expert in the exchange of technical information for project teams, and provide technical expertise and recommendations to the company;
  • Improve the team's expertise to meet demand and support technological orientation;
  • Always seek ways to increase the value offered; Lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements related to the client/server environment;
  • Coordinate and collaborate with network, business application and database administration functions to ensure the availability, reliability and scalability of enterprise and divisional servers to meet operational requirements;
  • Establish and implement policies, procedures and technologies to ensure server security;
  • Serve as a base for transmitting server problems to the appropriate people;
  • Respond promptly to customer complaints;
  • Configure and manage the file system;
    Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance patches and patches provided by the supplier;
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide statistics and performance reports;
  • Create shell scripts as needed;
  • Manage enterprise directory services and support server infrastructure;
  • Define and implement strategies to integrate disparate operational environments;
  • Recommend and execute changes to the server environment to improve efficiency, reliability and performance;
  • Develop and maintain training materials and server documentation;
  • Provide 24/7 assistance service.

What we are looking for

  • Holder of a bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or a college diploma with more experience;
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior technical analyst position responsible for server environment management;
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory related to structure and troubleshooting including DNS, sites and services, redundancy, security, LDAP protocol, user management;
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2003 or higher, Citrix, NPS, SharePoint, PowerShell;
  • Experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of all types of servers;
  • Experience with tools for setting up and monitoring server performance;
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and other network protocols and operating system configuration;
  • Practical technical knowledge of script code using Batch,PowerShell and other common script generation tools;
  • General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS;
  •  Experience with MOM and Shavlik; Knowledge of HP hardware (C7000, Blades, etc);
  • Knowledge of load balancing and grouping; Knowledge of ITIL, Service Now;
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) in both official languages;
  • Strong initiative, autonomy and thoroughness;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to set priorities and operate in an environment of high pressure;
  • Ability to conduct research on server issues and products;
  • Ability to present ideas in easy-to-understand language;
  • Great concern for customer service;
  • Experience working in a teamwork and collaborative environment.
